USED HARDINGE TAILSTOCK

FOR MODEL DSM-59 & DV-59 LATHES

INVENTORY #3895

DESCRIPTION

Hardinge Tailstock Assembly for DV59 Lathes:

A tailstock is used to support long work pieces, support work for machining between centers, or hold tools to perform machining.

The tailstock spindle is hardened and ground and has a Number 2 Morse taper ID.

The spindle OD is graduated in 1/8 inch increments.

The spindle can be locked in any travel position using a lever that operates to large half nuts to hold the spindle secure.

Spindle movement is controlled using a handwheel which has a large, adjustable easily read dial that is graduated in .001 increments.

The ball bearing in the handwheel provides for absorption of tool thrust and for a fine feel when performing precision work.

The tailstock assembly uses a lever operated clamp bolt to lock the tailstock to the desired position on a machine dovetail bedplate.

Tools are locked into place in the tailstock due to the matching Number 2 Morse tapers of both the tool and the tailstock.

Tooling is automatically discharged when the tailstock spindle is completely retracted into the casting and it hits a hardened position stop.
